Iris Smart Home
An IoT Smart Home app designed and built from scratch. The design templates had to be flexible to allow for over 160 devices from over 24 vendors and implement complex scheduling, rule building, and grouping.
The Iris system had dozens of categories for connected item types, and dozens of ways for things to be controlled.
The design system was developed to keep these controls consistent over hundreds of items and their capabilities.
Status at a glance was very important for each category, and a large focus of this status at a glance was on our home security devices.
Our users asked for it, so we listened. Towards the end of my tenure on the Iris project we transfered our mobile design to a web based application.
